In RnDVerse, we focus on building integrated Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) for Research & Development. This network aim to lower the barrier toward performing state-of-the-art research for everyone. Similar to the beginning of computer revolution, where access to computation resource and time were initiallly restricted to national institute, top universities, and huge corporations. Today's RnD resources are also accessible only to very few people, preventing progress of RnD by the general mass. Through our RnDVerse DePIN, we ought to change this. We want to enable everyone to have access to these research facilitites, while at the same time preserving the quality and maintanance of these infrastructure
RnDVerse is a project that was born with a vision to realize the first Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) and Metaverse for Scientific Research and Development (RnD).
The project is developed as a platform built atop of the foundational technologies of the DreamBrook Tech. The mission of the RnDVerse platform is toward “Making RnD as an Accessible Career for Everyone” . The core value propositions for the RnDVerse platform are threefold:
(1) To be a pioneer of Metaverse for Research and Development that drive democratization of RnD
(2) Be part of the first batch builders of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) for RnD,
(3) Be a driving force in accelerating the actions toward a world where everyone is empowered to participate in RnD.
The RnDVerse project was established based on the following core hypotheses:
1) RnD Industry is cyclic with Unlimited Market Potential.
2) Provided with appropriate economic interest, most institutions/groups/individuals would be willing to monetize their RnD resources, (e.g., laboratories, skills, funding, management, etc).
3) Given the opportunity for doing research and get paid well, many people will enjoy pursuing their research interest as an active career.
The above hypotheses are intended to be self-fulfilling, and thus we will strive to make the case proofing them as we grow along. Throughout the process we ought to solve the fact that RnD is an industry that is difficult to be part of. We detailed this through the following problem statements:
1. High knowledge or know-how barrier exist in entering the RnD industry that led to the limited size and distribution of the talent pool.
2. Access to resources needed for RnD project is limited, as a consequence RnD is typically is an expensive and time-consuming activity.
3. Currently it is rather difficult to connect the supply-demand fit for the RnD industry, bringing challenge in monetizing and market out the request and product of RnD.
4. RnD industry is inherently complex, therefore a vast and diverse infrastructure, expertise, and resources are often needed. The above problem statements are true at all scales, individuals, teams, and enterprise. Also across field, be it energy, material science, social science, healthcare, and more.
RnDVerse attempts on addressing the above problems by offering a platform designed based on 3 foundational business model layers, namely, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Marketplace-as-a-Service (MaaS), and Research-as-a-Service (RaaS). RnDVerse distinguished itself by having designed to be DePIN-integrated and natively incorporate advanced ABCDE & IoT (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud, Data, Energy, IoT) technologies.
Through our PaaS layer we strive to democratize various resources for doing state-of-the-art research. This included but not limited to, enabling cloud interface and remotely controlled laboratory equipment, providing a mission control where one can organize and deploy open-source research software at will and easily modify them for specific purposes, also provide easy and modular approach to nurture various domain specific AI-driven research assistant we called PhDBot.
History repeat itself. As Technologies develop it is common for it to begin and only accessible to selected few. Remember Computer was once the size of a room and is only available to small group of people in top university, government large institution, and big corporations. Then the Cyber café came along, before then followed by the desktop pc, laptop, and mobile gadget waves that brought us to where we are today. We believe the same will happen with the RnD Industry, because the foundational technologies economic incentives have now become mature enough to allow for such development.
We also believe that human potential can be unlocked further by facilitating more access to RnD resources. Most college graduates, masters, and PhD have the passion and capacity to do various interesting research that are meaningful to the society. But most don’t have proper access to the resources needed, also to the marketplace in which their research output can be monetized. Some other simply doesn’t have the time to do everything on their own.
To this end, enter our Marketplace-as-a-Service (MaaS) layer, that focus on nurturing and building conducive Collaboration Marketplace. In our marketplace Individual, team, and enterprise can wander around and find their research collaboration partners/customers. After they have formed collaboration partnership or working team, a collaborative research project can then happen utilizing the resources provided by RnDVerse community and can be performed via the RnDVerse Platform layer.
For some user/customer of our RnDVerse platform they might want to save the hassle of actually going through the collaborative process itself, thus we also offer a Research-as-a-Service (RaaS) where user/customer simply fund a research contract for their specific purpose. The RaaS layer is made possible by combinations of our in-house developed research tools that automate most part of the research, as well as the RnDVerse research talent community, that works together toward providing technological solutions as specified in the research contract.
All in all, we see the future where there will be more and more researchers and researchpreneur with affordable access to world-class research facilities aiding our exploration and learning as society. Together solving global and societal challenge and make the world better. RnDVerse platform will coherently contribute to the D3 Economy vision of the DreamBrook Tech Ecosystem.
The construction of the RnDVerse platform began by first establishing the basic infrastructures needed, such as building an integrated mission control hub called CloudSpace, Fully-personalized Scientific AI Research Assistant called PhDBot, marketplace mechanism, software and mini-platform for RaaS, and more. Research resources such as the facilities, infrastructure, devices, and talent will all be connected to an in-house DePIN ecosystem called ALFONSO where user can design and submit their research task to be executed on simulations or digital software, but also physically in real-world laboratories. These components and modules are then integrated into the metaverse ecosystem we are building. Within the Metaverse Ecosystem, each user/account will have -metaverse built for their own purpose where they can have a specific setting and working pipeline specially tailored to fulfil their research need.
In research, data security is critical. Across our RnDVerse platform, all your data are securely integrated in one backend, no matter the format, and available to you through our AI-empowered Data Curation system, in any format you need. Your research data can be kept strictly private or shared to specific groups of people securely through RnDVerse blockchain cryptographic network and protocol. Further in the future, in order to support the possibility for complete decentralization and protected premises for your data and -metaverses we also started designing an edge computing and storage hardware called MetaBox to maximize user experience, data security, and system robustness.
